STRATEGIC PLAN: OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
CADA is home to current and future leaders across a variety of creative and scholarly disciplines. Our students, faculty, and staff take risks and reimagine the world.
The creative experience is often messy. Creativity and critical expression require experimentation, failure, and revision. In this college, we support the mess in all our creative work — in our teaching, research, and collaboration. However, in our administrative work, we seek to be efficient and elegant. We aim to reduce administrative hurdles so we can better facilitate explorations of new creative opportunities.
As part of a Carnegie-designated Research 1 public institution, the college takes pride in the varying perspectives, backgrounds, and approaches of its community. Working together across our many productive differences, we maintain our commitment to creating an inclusive, equitable college where everyone feels welcome to participate.
In a fast-evolving world, we will equip future generations of artists, designers, architects, curators, humanists, and scholars with skills, knowledge, and sustainable practices to thrive in our professional fields. We will continue to create an environment in which students are free to fully express themselves.
In CADA’s schools and units, our faculty and students conduct exceptional research and author creative and scholarly projects with significance both locally and internationally. We are committed to supporting and promoting this work, propelling the college’s and university’s reputation.
CADA will continue to invest in efforts that promote intellectual and creative exchange — sharing and refining ideas — and partnerships that sustain and expand possibilities for our faculty and students. We will use our spaces, including the planned Center for the Arts, to connect with each other and to build our relationships with external communities.
Through support for inventive, meaningful research, practice, and teaching, through interdisciplinary projects, and through community engagement, the college will continue to champion its students, faculty, and partners as they make unique contributions to the arts and society.
