Voices: Goat Island

The Chicago-based collaborative performance group Goat Island was established in 1987. Goat Island has toured extensively in Europe and North America, presenting work at some of the world’s most important festivals and performance spaces. In the past few years alone, Goat Island has performed at the Kitchen, New York; Podewil Center for Contemporary Arts, Berlin; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Lab, San Francisco; and has participated in Theater Festival, Basel; Eurokaz International Festival of New Theater, Zagreb, Croatia; NOW Festival, Nottingham; and Greenwich Festival, London, among others.
Since its inception, Goat Island has created six collaborative works, including How Dear to Me the Hour When the Daylight Dies (1996) and The Sea & Poison (1998). Their seventh piece, It’s an Earthquake in My Heart, premiers at Performing Arts Chicago in May 2002.
