Chris Bratton is an independent video producer and educator. His work has been shown extensively on television and in museum settings. Recently, he was in a two-person show at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. His work has also been screened at the San Francisco Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival, and at the Wexner Center for the Arts. He has been active in forming a number of educational programs for youth across the country, which teach young people how to utilize video equipment in a variety of contexts. For example, in Milwaukee and New York, the youths dealt with issues of criminalization and its relationship to gangs. Along the same lines, Bratton is working in collaboration with a group in Chicago called Video Machete.
Currently, Bratton is the chair of the video department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He received an MFA in film from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and attended the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program.
