Andrea Van der Straeten (born 1953), from Vienna, Austria, is a visiting artist at the School of Art and Design in Spring 2001. Her lecture entitled “Rumor as Communicative Sculpture” covers her public art projects. Her past work has included public billboard projects, ruminations on archival systems, and various interactive, performative projects. One of two purchasing curators for the city of Linz, Austria, Van der Straeten teaches at the University for Art and Industrial Design, Linz, Austria.
