An informal discussion where the artists discuss their work prior to the exhibition opening at the Chicago Cultural Center April 21.
An exciting international exhibition of contemporary work, Korrespondenzen/Correspondences: Fourteen Artists from Berlin and Chicago is organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs; the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and the Berlinische Galerie: Museum for Modern Art Photography and Architecture. The exhibition is co-curated by Gregory G. Knight, Judith Russi Kirshner, and Ursula Prinz. The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Goethe Institute Chicago, and is sponsored in part by the Senate Department of Cultural Affairs, Berlin, and Lufthansa.
Featured Chicago artists include Jeanne Dunning, Julia Fish, I igo Manglano-Ovalle, Kerry James Marshall, Dan Peterman, Kay Rosen, and Charles Wilson. The Berlin artists are Knut Bayer, Thomas Florschuetz, Klaus Hoefs, Raimun Kummer, Eran Schaerf, Lisa Schmitz, and Ute Weiss-Leder.
