Please join us at the Graham Foundation to celebrate the release of the book Karen Reimer: Endless, co-published by Gallery 400 and WhiteWalls and supported by a Craft Research Fund grant from the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design, Inc. and by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The event will include a Q&A moderated by Gallery 400 Director Lorelei Stewart.

Endless, a catalogue on the work of pioneer contemporary craft artist Karen Reimer, is the first major publication on this influential craft artist s practice. The catalogue with important essays by leading cultural critic Lauren Berlant, architectural critic Penelope Dean, and art historian Judith Russi Kirshner, as well as an interview with the artist by Gallery 400 director Lorelei Stewart considers the artist s multi-disciplinary craft-based work. This innovative new scholarship addresses neglected craft history, boldly theorizes a new relationship of craft to labor, and explores how this groundbreaking artist entwines craft, art, and contemporary issues. The catalogue documents and critically engages with the work in two exhibitions, Golden at Gahlberg Gallery, College of DuPage and Endless Set #1399 at Gallery 400, University of Illinois at Chicago as well as with the rest of Reimer s Endless Set series, and is a valuable record documenting the over 20-year career of this important Chicago conceptual/craft artist.

Catalogues will be available for purchase.
