Painter and photographer Gadi Gofbarg, has lived in Israel, served in the army, and subsequently decided to divorce Zionism after his experience with war. He will be participating in an upcoming group show at The Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College, Chicago titled Mapping Identities, where the artists draw from their personal experiences to confront political issues. Gofbarg also writes and contributes to Third Text, an international scholarly journal dedicated to providing critical perspectives on art and visual culture. He currently teaches at the School of Art and Design, University of Illinois at Chicago.
