Dan Peterman (born 1960) uses recycled materials to produce starkly minimal works that operate as elegant sculpture, functional objects, and critiques of environmental waste and neglect. Peterman is also a founder and director of the Experimental Station, an innovative, Chicago-based incubator of small-scale enterprise and cultural projects. His works have been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Venice Biennale, Italy; Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland; and the Smart Museum of Art, Chicago, among other venues. He received a BFA from University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and an MFA from the University of Chicago.
