Catalyst is an exhibition of artworks created through partnerships between artists, alumni from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Art and Design, and various community organizations. During the 1995–1996 academic year, Gallery 400 presents works from Little City, Garfield High School, the Cabrini Green Tutoring Program, the Near Northwest Arts Council and Peoples Housing Community Arts Program: agencies dedicated to encouraging development and strengthening community arts programming. Catalyst is intended to promote the visual arts at local levels and to foster cooperation and partnerships between community agencies, artists, and arts educators.
