1946 Architecture and Art established as a part of the Engineering Sciences[program] at the Chicago Undergraduate Division at Navy Pier (Source: 44th Report of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees)

1964 Expansion of Educational Program at Chicago Undergraduate Division, formally establishing the College of Fine and Applied Arts, later changed to Architecture and Art (Source: 52nd Report of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees)

Department of Art name changed to School of Art and Design

College of Urban Sciences name changed to School of Urban Sciences

1992 Department of Music (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), Theatre Program (Department of Communication and Theatre) and the Dance Program of the College of Kinesiology are combined to form the Department of Performing Arts.
