“As a University employee and as an artist and musician, I know how important the donations to our college are to help make the students in the arts and creative fields thrive. Our students and alumni give color and culture to the city, and I am more than happy to give back to them. That’s why I love working here and why I donated to CADA.” —Conrad Merced, Business Analyst
“The financial support I received has been a significant factor in my academic and career development and has not only been a motivation to excel academically but also to value generosity and giving back. It has been a year since I graduated from the college, and I’m happy to say that I have landed the job of my dreams and have already seen significant growth. I continue to remind myself of the valuable lesson of paying it forward that this generosity has taught me.” —Samra Qasim, Class of 2017
The symposium “Public Performances: The Arts and Politics of Architecture” took place on March 29, 2019, and was made possible by support from the Otto and Maryls Coelln Symposium Fund and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. With panel discussions presented in three “acts,” this one-day symposium aimed to redefine the relationships between public and private spaces and explored the role of higher education as a public good.
