Theatre & Music
UIC Unreal Fest Game Jam

TBD
In collaboration with Epic Games
Build a world in a weekend. Learn new tools. Collaborate across disciplines.
The UIC Unreal Fest Game Jam is a three-day, hands-on creative event where students and alumni come together to design and build interactive experiences using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
Hosted by the UIC School of Theatre and Music in collaboration with Epic Games, this event brings together creators from across disciplines to experiment with real-time tools, develop new skills, and build portfolio-ready projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
No prior game development experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to experiment.
What is a Game Jam?
A game jam is a high intensity, fun-focused creative event where participants form teams and build a playable game or interactive experience from concept to prototype in a short period of time.
Game jams emphasize:

- Turning ideas into playable experiences

I’m Interested
Spots for the UIC Unreal Fest Game Jam are limited and expected to fill quickly. Due to space limitations, we will only be able to accept 40 participants.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop projects that may be showcased during Unreal Fest Chicago (June 16–18, 2026), connecting student work with professionals in the game and real-time 3D industries.
