An emerging group rooted from a shared institutional background at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Art and Art History gathers together to present an experimental form of the art-making process. Post-Practice sets the stage for a reconfiguration of the artist’ interdisciplinary education through challenging use of alternative materials and pushing the spectrum of the individuals thesis. As a collective, the utilizes this platform as agency to augment shared notions such as configuring loss, reclaiming space, challenging gender normatives and labor politics, intimacy, and identity through artistic expression. Together, they confront the viewer with provocative questions and demand one to take an acknowledged stance on these subjects in today’s cultural climate.
