Dance Nation

Saturday, November 15, 2025–Saturday, November 22, 2025
Location:
1044 W Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60607

In the middle of Ohio, a group of cutthroat, tween-age competitive dancers make a plan to score a trophy at the nationals in Tampa. But in Clare Barron’s raucous pageant of ambition and ferocity, these young dancers have more than choreography on their minds, because every plié and jeté is a step toward finding themselves and a fight to unleash their power.

A play about ambition, growing up, and the search for identity in the heat of it all, this refreshingly unorthodox comedy conveys the joy and abandon of dancing while addressing the changes of body and mind that come with adolescence. Part reality, part fantasy, DANCE NATION (Pulitzer Prize Finalist) shows how far humans are willing to go to win.
