Co-Authoring the Story of Art Education: A Chicago Bookwork
Gallery 400 Lecture Room
400 S. Peoria St. Chicago, IL 60607
Artist-educators Jorge Lucero and Paulina Camacho ask: “What is your relationship to art education in Chicago? Did you teach? Did you learn? Did you make, advocate, fight, or give? Did you find healing, community, or purpose? Is your creative work through art education? Are you in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school, higher education, or community arts? Are you in with the teaching artists, arts advocates, museum educators, social practitioners, or art therapists? Do you represent multiple intersections of these realms?”
If so, you are the story of Chicago’s art education and now is your chance to share that story with others.”
For this workshop led by Lucero and Camacho, we invite you to co-author a book of your art education story on December 14, from 12 to 3pm. The narratives collected and cataloged will be featured in a forthcoming bookwork that we are producing.
You only need to bring your expertise (meaning YOUR personal, art education story) as well as a laptop, table, or smartphone. We will collate, copy, edit, and design the whole thing. When it is published, we will send you complimentary copies of the book as an appreciation for your contribution.
