COVID-19 updates for the School of Architecture

In response to COVID-19, UIC’s spring break has been extended to begin Monday, March 16. All UIC and School of Architecture classes will begin meeting online Monday, March 30. Students should continue to follow UIC’s announcements over the break and check their emails for updates from the university and the school.

School faculty and staff will be working remotely as of Tuesday, March 17. School offices and labs will be closed beginning that day. The Architecture + Design Studios building will remain accessible to the School of Architecture community through at least spring break; we will circulate additional information as necessary.

Advisors will be in contact with admitted students and TryArch program participants to share information and instructions.

All School of Architecture public events for the semester have been cancelled or postponed. We are discussing how to hold the Year End Show virtually, assuming that this will be necessary.

While we are disappointed that courses and studio life cannot continue as usual, everyone’s health and safety are our first priority. We thank our students, faculty, and staff for their patience, flexibility, and creativity during this time.
