Portfolios are not required (or reviewed) for first-year undergraduate applicants to the School of Architecture.

Spring Admission
Not available. Do not select an alternate program when applying for spring admission.
Late Applications
Not accepted for Architecture programs.

2.75 cumulative GPA
Advanced Placement Portfolio
Optional review available for advanced placement only.
Admission Decision
Advanced placement review does not impact admission decisions.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT PORTFOLIO REVIEW

Transfer students may request an advanced placement portfolio review.

To participate:

  • Complete the screening form to receive submission instructions.
  • Submit your portfolio at the time you submit your UIC application.
  • The submission deadline is the UIC admissions deadline (typically April 1).
  • Late portfolio submissions are not accepted.
CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR BA IN ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES
60 Credit Hours
Those transferring with fewer than 60 credits will need more than 2 years to complete the degree. 
2.75 GPA Minimum
Transfer students: minimum 2.75 GPA required for eligibility for admissions consideration in the School of Architecture.
