UIC School of Design Philip Burton Fund

The UIC School of Design is proud to announce a new endowed fund established in honor of one of our most esteemed faculty members, Philip Burton. Our goal for the Philip Burton Fund is to endow a permanent department Chair position in Graphic Design at the UIC School of Design in order to strengthen our reputation as one of the top design schools in the world, as well as to help attract and retain distinguished faculty for the role of Graphic Design Chair.

Donate now to help our students explore the world of design:

For over 25 years Philip Burton's talent and guidance have shaped generations of students at both Yale and our own UIC. Realizing the goal of the Philip Burton Fund will ensure the leadership exemplified by our revered colleague will continue to influence future UIC learners.

"More than any other instructor I've had, Philip helped me understand and articulate my design process, question my decisions, and explore new possibilities. He never let students settle for their first idea, and truly helped us grow as creatives by pushing us all outside our comfort zones. Among other things, he's given me a real passion for clear communication, the confidence to lead a team, and a seriously skilled role-model to forever look up to. It's no exaggeration to say his mentorship played a crucial role in my career successes, and continues to impact who I am as a designer." -Greg Calvert, BFA 2005

The experiences we offer our students and faculty would not be possible without our community of supporters. Thank you for your philanthropy. CADA is most grateful for your partnership.
